The original IQ light’s fabrication system was based on a one module system because that was the most economical option based the fabrication processes available at the time.  However, today with the combination with parametric design software and digital fabrication tools allows designers to create various sized pieces with no extra fabrication time.  Secondly, the IQ light system did not account for the waste created from the modules.  The new system incorporates the waste into the design.
